Privacy policy

Promptur collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising. Nothing you type, open or say is transmitted to me or to any third party, because the app has no code that sends it anywhere.
Your voice
When you press Start, Promptur listens to your microphone so it can work out which words of your script you have reached. That recognition runs on your Mac using Apple's on-device speech framework. The audio is held in memory only for as long as it takes to match it against your script. It is never written to disk, never recorded, and never uploaded. Closing the app or pressing Stop ends the listening immediately.
Your scripts
Scripts are plain text files stored on your own Mac, inside the app's sandbox container or wherever you chose to keep them. Promptur reads the file you open and nothing else. It has no access to the rest of your disk. I never see your scripts.
The one network request
Stating this plainly rather than hiding behind "we do not collect data". The first time you press Start, macOS may download Apple's on-device speech model so that recognition can run locally. That request is made by macOS to Apple, not by Promptur to me, and it carries no audio and no script content. It happens once. After that the app works with no connection at all. Apple's handling of that request is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
Settings
Your preferences, such as text size, typeface and the position of the prompter strip, are saved locally in the app's own storage on your Mac. Deleting the app removes them.
Children
Promptur is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If a future version of Promptur ever collects anything, this page will say so before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
